Puputan Badung Monument History Of Denpasar Power
Puputan Badung Monument, otherwise known as Puputan I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung Park is located in the central square of Denpasar City, near Bali Museum. The monument is placed on the north side of Puputan I Gusti Ngurah Made Agung Park, which used to be a battleground when The Dutch Intervention in Bali of 1906 had occurred.
Puputan means a mass ritual suicide in preference to facing the humiliation of surrender. Puputan Badung Monument was erected as a remembrance and a tribute to the Balinese who sacrificed their lives to defend our honor and dignity during the foreign aggression.
